The name of the association is “Taichung International Tourism Association”. It is a legally established non-profit social organization aimed at developing Taichung City’s tourism and fostering local prosperity.
In helping central Taiwan to develop the international tourism market, industries in central Taiwan joined forces in October 2015 to found the “Taichung International Tourism Association”, including airlines, inbound tour operators, tourist hotels, general hotels, B&Bs, renowned scenic attractions, specialty restaurants, bakeries and souvenir stores. As an important platform in expanding central Taiwan’s international tourism market, the association plays the role of bellwether to integrate tour operators willing to develop international inbound tourism, where the concept of tourism in central Taiwan is applied to help the government promote the policy of “Arrival and departure through central Taiwan” in countries such as China, Hong Kong, Korea, Japan and Southeast Asia.
In an attempt to attract more international travelers to visit Taiwan, 7 municipalities, including Miaoli, Taichung, Changhua, Nantou, Yunlin, Chiayi City and County have teamed up to promote the policy of arrival and departure through central Taiwan, so that travelers can embark on in-depth self-service travel, in turn making Taichung International Airport the gateway to Taiwan for international travelers. After tour operators voluntarily formed the “Taichung International Tourism Association”, members have traveled to different countries in Asia with the city government to market Taiwan’s “Arrival and departure through central Taiwan” policy. Together, they have achieved remarkable results for tourism in central Taiwan.
Taichung International Tourism Association has selected unique service providers in central Taiwan and integrated elements such as gourmet food, entertainment, culture, specialty products and scenic attractions so that instead of struggling alone, a complete marketing model based on “Arrival and departure through central Taiwan” will be created. Besides designing diverse, innovative travel packages, the tour operators can also engage in in-depth exchange with one another and with the government in order to introduce charisma to international tourism.
The association has 7 missions:
1. Marketing and promotion of tourism resources.
2. Facilitate international inbound tourism and domestic tourism development.
3. Prepare and facilitate exchanges among the tourism industry, government and academe.
4. Offer tourism related services and training, etc.
5. Organize tourism events in conjunction with the city’s festivities.
6. Participate in various tourism organizations and conduct liaisons.
7. Other tourism related promotions.
Since the founding of the association, we have garnered support and recognition from the tourism industry, thereby ensuring the successful implementation of various measures. In the future, we will assist Taichung to form closer ties with the international tourism industry in order to maximize tourism benefits.
